Mobile Engineers

We are seeking several experienced Mobile Cross-Platform CI/CD Engineers to build, maintain, and optimize our health tech client's mobile development infrastructure. This role focuses on creating robust, scalable CI/CD pipelines for cross-platform mobile applications while ensuring high-quality releases across iOS and Android platforms.

Duration: End of year, extension possible

Location: mostly remote, occasional visits to Helsinki/Oulu office beneficial
Allocation: 100%

What You will do:

  • Improve and maintain end-to-end CI/CD pipelines for multiple mobile applications.
  • Create reusable workflow templates and custom GitHub Actions.
  • Optimize build and test times through caching, sharding and parallelization.
  • Maintain and scale build infrastructure based on team growth.
  • Collaborate with QA teams to optimize test coverage and execution time
  • Implement disaster recovery and backup strategies for build systems.
  • Improve and maintain automated quality gates and security scanning.
  • Manage platform-specific requirements and dependencies.
  • Set up automated device testing across real devices and simulators.
  • Create test reporting dashboards and failure analysis automation.
  • Monitor system performance and implement proactive maintenance.
  • Stretch/bonus responsibility: Design and implement comprehensive cross-platform integration testing strategies.

Technical expertise needed in:

  • GitHub Actions - Advanced workflow creation, custom actions, matrix builds.
  • Docker expertise - Container orchestration, multi-stage builds, registry management.
  • Build system expertise - Gradle and Tuist.
  • Ubuntu & macOS proficiency - Deep understanding of both environments for cross-platform builds.
  • Understanding of Xcode, Android Studio, Gradle, and Fastlane.
  • Automated publishing to Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
  • iOS provisioning profiles, Android keystore management, and certificate handling.
  • Advanced Git workflows, branching strategies, and merge automation.
  • Binary storage, versioning, and distribution strategies.
  • Scripting - Bash, Python for automation.
  • Build tools - Docker, Node.js, Gradle, Java/Kotlin, Swift.
  • Quality gates - SonarQube, ESLint, automated security scanning, kotlinter.

The ideal candidate has:

  • 3+ years in either Software engineering or DevOps/CI-CD engineering with a focus on mobile platforms and pipeline optimization.
  • 1+ years of experience with at least one of gradle or github actions.
  • Proven experience with high-velocity mobile development teams.
  • Experience with scaling tests.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with systematic debugging approach.
  • Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Is self-motivated with ability to work independently and prioritize effectively.
  • Continuous learning mindset to stay current with mobile DevOps trends.
  • Interest in exploring and experimenting with AI tools for build optimization.
  • Beneficial if you have some knowledge on any of the following technologies:
  • Build optimization - Parallel execution, caching strategies, build time reduction.
  • Monitoring - Pipeline health monitoring, build failure analysis, and notifications.
  • Metrics collection - Build time tracking, success rates, deployment frequency, and resource utilization.
  • Dashboard development using Grafana, DataDog, or similar platforms.
  • Performance analysis - Trend identification, bottleneck detection.
  • Reporting automation - Executive dashboards and team performance metrics
  • Performance testing - Automated performance benchmarking and regression detection.
  • Cross-platform Integration Testing experience.
  • Mobile development background (iOS/Android/React Native/Flutter).
  • Knowledge of mobile security best practices and compliance requirements.
