Role: Data engineer

We are looking for a Data Engineer for a major Nordic banking institution to join their Credit & Capital Data Foundation (CCDF) Strategic Programme. Operating within the Information Capability domain, this role focuses on the BASEL Rewiring initiative to remediate regulatory findings, address data gaps, and establish consistent, trusted, and governed data across credit and capital business areas. The Data Engineer will translate functional and non-functional requirements into high-level and detailed solution designs while collaborating closely with Product Owners, SMEs, and architectural stakeholders.

Start: 1.8.2026

Duration: 6 months (Until 2027-01-31)

Location: Helsinki, Finland (Hybrid: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote)

Language: English

Other: Compliance with the local hybrid onsite presence policy is required.

Tech-wise we're looking for:

  • Experience implementing large-scale enterprise solution architecture
  • Solid understanding of modern application stacks incorporating open-source and third-party vendor technologies
  • Knowledge of modern infrastructure and integration patterns supporting both batch and real-time processing
  • Strong background in data and information architecture, including data modeling and data management technologies
  • Understanding of security requirements and experience implementing appropriate controls within solutions
  • Experience using solution modeling tools, notations, and practices
  • Hands-on experience with cloud data warehouses, specifically Snowflake (Nice-to-have)
  • Experience with ETL pipeline development, orchestration, and CI/CD setup in Snowflake (Nice-to-have)

Soft-skill we're looking for:

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to guide, build consensus, and work cohesively within a project team
  • Business acumen and a solid understanding of the banking industry, particularly credit risk and credit portfolio management
  • Ability to facilitate requirements gathering alongside Product Owners, Process Owners, and SMEs
