Senior Embedded Linux / C Developer —(Edge Agent Development)

A Telco client is looking for a senior developer to work on edge-agent development for operator-managed customer premises devices. The role is a good fit for someone with strong Linux networking, Embedded Linux, and systems-level C experience. The focus is on contributing to secure, maintainable software architecture for always-on operator-managed devices while designing for robust failure handling and operational reliability.

Start: ASAP

Duration: 100% allocation, until further notice

Location: Hybrid (1–2 days/week on-site)

Language: Finnish (suomi)

Other: Previous experience with prpl / prplLCM-style containerized application models (LXC, OCI) is considered a significant advantage.

Role - we're looking for

  • Strong C programming skills in Linux user space.
  • Deep experience with Embedded Linux systems and daemon development.
  • Solid understanding of OpenWrt system components: opkg, procd, UCI, ubus, and package feeds.
  • Proficiency in cross-compilation and Linux networking components like netfilter/nftables, tc, and conntrack.

The Tech/Soft-skills:

  • Hands-on experience with networking disciplines: CAKE, fq_codel, packet marking, and DSCP/DiffServ.
  • Ability to integrate and operate firewalling, NAT, QoS, and traffic prioritization.
  • Architectural mindset for secure and maintainable code in constrained, long-running environments.
  • Practical approach to developing Linux userspace networking applications and service-oriented daemons.
