Data Engineer

We want you to join our diverse team within Data & Analytics consisting of Data Engineers, Data Analysts, Data Scientists, and Data Stewards based across Sweden and India.

You will work in Business Support , helping build batch and streaming data pipelines from various different sources on google cloud using Python. Curate, Validate and transform the data as per defined business logic, Support Data/Business Analysts in creating and maintaining dashboards.

As a data foundation team within the customer domain, this client needs additional data engineers to help product teams in transforming existing data into proper data products, to enable the data mesh. The work will include both hands-on work and process setup/improvement regarding: ingestion and transformation pipelines, data quality checks, modeling, metadata management, harmonisation, access management and integration with the central platform. This assignment will also involve stakeholder management with product and software engineering, documentation to ensure discoverability and review of our current setup regarding tech stack, best practices, and security. They need smart minds to not only follow instructions, but also think along and bring in their expertise while we build the foundation for a stable data mesh.

Requirements:

Data products and data mesh knowledge: experience with practical implementation from design to data quality to data contracts and access management

Data ingestion and transformation knowledge: advanced SQL skills are crucial, Python skills are important; experience with Apache Beam (Dataflow) is a big plus, PySpark is an advantage

Communication and interpersonal skills to help advocate for the data mesh, but also to guide colleagues technically

Data governance experience: knowledge regarding classification, metadata standards, harmonisation, DQ management, masking

GCP in general: advanced GBQ knowledge, and especially tools used for data pipelines like Cloud Run (jobs) or Workflows. Experience with GBQ Sharing is a plus; as mentioned Dataflow is a big plus.

CI/CD and DataOps: GitHub Actions, Observability/Monitoring, IaC with Terraform

dbt: for data modelling and transformation pipelines

Stakeholder management (software engineers, POs)

Strong background in geospatial data systems and GIS tools (e.g., PostGIS, ArcGIS, QGIS, Carto).

Location: Malmö. Onsite will be expected.
