Test Specialist

We are looking for a Test Specialist to join the IRIS team with a Swedish client. You will be part of an agile DevOps team delivering a global tax invoicing solution. The team is responsible for the full development lifecycle – from building new features to maintaining and supporting the solution in production.

You will contribute to the ongoing development of the clients in-house regression testing tool, which is built in Kotlin. You will design and implement new automated tests, verify test results, and log any defects for the team to address. You will also play an active part in shaping their test automation strategy and recommending additional tools that can strengthen their approach.

As a member of the DevOps team, you will participate in feature walkthroughs, grooming sessions, and solution design discussions to ensure a clear understanding of each new feature before development begins. You will work closely with developers to make sure that automated tests are defined and ready before coding starts, enabling development to progress smoothly against test cases. Alongside your colleagues, you will share responsibility for delivering reliable, high-quality solutions and maintaining them in production.

Your responsibilities/tasks:
• Work closely together with business analysts and solution architects to fully understand the requirements and solution to be tested
• Work closely with manual testers to capture test payloads for new functionality and request what needs to be tested
• Secure testability of the backlog/user stories in the backlog grooming process
• Be part of the agile team with joint responsibility to deliver quality secured features to production
• Continue to develop our regression test tool by adding new features
• Add new tests in the regression test tool for new functionality
• Adapt and configure existing tests to test only what is necessary (find a good balance)
• Executing regression on demand and report defects
• Monitoring and making sure the regression test reports are kept "green" without defects

Skills:
• Believes in test-driven development and takes the responsibility of securing test quality in the team
• Self-driven to improve and strives for good quality of team deliverables
• Experience in agile test process and test automation
• Experience in setting up automated tests with standard and home built tools
• Risk-driven and able to define the right level of needed test coverage
• Good at troubleshooting
• Experience in containerized execution models (kubernetes)
• Experience in testing of applications with event driven patterns
• Experience of working in DevOps teams, knowledgeable within DevOps philosophy
• Coding and scripting experience (the application is built in Kotlin, scripting is typically in Python)
• Bonus to have experience in setting up and executing UX testing tools (web application is built in Flutter/Dart)
