Data Scientist
This client is building an Observability platform, enabling their product and platform teams to get insight into the availability an reliability of their digital products.
They are embarking on a journey to add additional analytical and digital insights capability to their platform to further strengthen the existing capabilities in predictive analytics, insights and advanced event management.
Tasks include:
*Data Science Leadership:
Guide the team in developing and implementing analytical approaches that translate observability and business data into high-value insights.
Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making, encouraging innovation and continuous improvement in how data is used across the organization.
*Advanced Analytics & Machine Learning:
Design, build, and deploy machine learning models for anomaly detection, forecasting, and noise reduction.
Continuously evaluate and refine models to improve accuracy and business relevance.
*Observability & Business Data Integration:
Analyze and correlate observability data (logs, metrics, traces) with business context using Grafana and Splunk as primary tools.
Leverage OpenTelemetry (OTel) for observability instrumentation and data enrichment.
*Team Collaboration & Mentorship:
Collaborate closely with Data Engineers, IT, DevOps, and business teams to ensure data solutions are actionable and aligned with business needs.
Mentor and develop team members, sharing expertise in data science, analytics, and best practices.
*Value Delivery:
Lead initiatives to prioritize and respond to incidents based on data-driven insights.
Drive the adoption of new analytical methods and tools that increase the value derived from data.
*Continuous Improvement:
Monitor model performance and data quality.
Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance data pipelines and analytical workflows.
*Experience:
Proven experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar analytical leadership role, with hands-on experience in data analysis and machine learning.
Requirements:
Proficiency in Python and SQL
Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
Hands-on experience with BigQuery as a business intelligence/analytics tool
Familiarity with Grafana and Prometheus as primary observability tools
Experience with Splunk as a secondary observability/log analysis tool
Strong familiarity with OpenTelemetry (OTel) for observability instrumentation
Machine Learning:
Experience with machine learning for anomaly detection and forecasting
Ability to lead and innovate in applying ML models to reduce noise and maximize value in incident management
Leadership:
Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team of data professionals
Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills
Analytical Mindset:
Ability to analyze complex datasets and extract meaningful insights.
Location preferably Malmö (onsite 2-3 days/week), or Sweden
