Back End Developer

This is a long-term project (2–3 years, possibly longer) focused on a comprehensive renewal of the bank’s interface architecture – a technically demanding initiative requiring a highly skilled professional.

About the Project:

You will join a team of around 40–50 people divided into four squads. Each squad consists of iOS and Android developers, backend developers, QA, squad leads/Product Owners, and designers. You will most likely join the Banking squad or the Foundation team, which handles architectural and component-level changes.

The role involves collaboration with the core banking system provider (based in Åland) and the bank itself. Due to the nature of the project, security clearance will be required, with the expected start in August 2025, after clearance completion.

What We're Looking For:

We are seeking a consultant who can raise the overall level of the team, not just through technical skills, but also by being proactive in documentation and communication. You should be comfortable producing clear technical documentation (such as API usage guides or possibly sequence diagrams) and actively contributing to architectural discussions.

Desired Skills:

• Java
• Spring Boot
• REST API development
• Performance optimization
• Caching strategies for mobile applications
• Ability to read iOS (Swift) and Android (Kotlin) code
• AWS
• Strong documentation skills
• Fluent English (Finnish and Swedish are considered a plus)

Other Requirements:

• Availability for on-site work in Helsinki ~2 days/week
• Willingness to travel to Åland when needed
• You must have your own Mac laptop
• Allocation: 100%
