Product Data Taxonomy Specialist (HKI)
This is a critical Product Data role focused on designing the fundamental structure of the client’s e-commerce platform. You will be instrumental in developing a functional, scalable, and future-proof product taxonomy that directly impacts millions of customers' shopping experiences, driving better findability and conversion. Your primary goal is to bridge the gap between technical capabilities, commercial logic, and practical implementation to establish a unified and optimal product information structure (Product Data Taxonomy). Our client in retail is looking for an expert with experience from similar roles like Business Developer / Product Designer / Product Manager / Product Data Engineer.

Location: Onsite in Helsinki 2 times / week
Allocation: 100%
Key Responsibilities:
- Taxonomy Development: Develop and implement a functional and scalable e-commerce product taxonomy that supports the category mix, core business objectives, and external/internal user experience.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate and drive product data development independently across multiple stakeholder groups (CX, Tech, Business, Legal).
- Cross-Functional Integration: Serve as the central integrator for product information structures, facilitating workshops and co-creation sessions to create a shared understanding among diverse, cross-functional team members.
- Process Improvement: Identify product data gaps and contribute to taxonomy design, process, and data quality improvements.
Success & Impact:
- Success in this role means establishing a clear, scalable, and well-governed product taxonomy. Your impact will be measured by key performance indicators (KPIs) focused on:
- Product taxonomy completeness & quality.
- Product data accuracy & gap reduction.
- Positive internal & external user feedback.
Ideal expertise:
- E-commerce Expertise: Strong background in e-commerce business processes, operations, and customer journeys, with the ability to drive product findability and conversion.
- Data Translation: Demonstrated ability to combine technical and commercial perspectives into an effective e-commerce product taxonomy.
- Facilitation & Leadership: Strong collaboration, communication, and facilitation skills, with the ability to independently lead a development initiative in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
- Deeper technical knowledge of product information systems (PIM/ERP/eCom) and core data structures (not mandatory but a plus)
